Sturdy, handsome, and many times worth its weight in Burgundy, this wine-saver set preserves opened bottles of wine for up to two weeks. (It won't work with sparkling wines or soft drinks, however.) A simple and ingenious pump fits onto one of the two bottle stoppers that come with the set and pumps the air from a bottle through the stopper, which then seals the resulting vacuum. For precision, the pump clicks when the correct vacuum level has been attained. With no oxygen inside the bottle to turn wine vinegary it stays fresh until the stopper is removed. The matte-black pump and gray stoppers fit onto a stable, shiny black storage base and look elegant as a top hat on the bar. The pump is 6 inches high and the base is 4-1/2 inches wide. --Fred Brack

Comment:	I've been using this fairly consistently for the few weeks since I bought it. Everything works great. It seems to save the quality of the wine well. It does feel the tiniest bit a little cheap on the construction. Nothing has happened, but when I pump the air out of the bottles, the plastic feels a little brittle. But like I said, so far, no problems, does the job, works great, I'm happy.

Comment:	I bought one of these wine savers for my husband and I a few years ago, and loved it so much that we bought one for everyone in our families for Christmas! It's perfect if you just want a glass of wine and not the whole bottle! You can keep a bottle of wine for a couple of weeks or more, and it never tastes skunky as long as you follow the directions. The only downside: The original saver I bought for myself came with a case for the parts. The ones we ordered for gifts came all loosey-goosey. Can be easy to lose the stoppers.

Comment:	Works great. Of coarse the lower the wine level the longer it will take you to pump the air out and can feel like it takes forever when you are drunk, but is fantastic especially if you will take a month to finish off a bottle. There is not a stand that comes with it like shown in the picture.
