They reduce cadmium, cryptosporidium, giardia, lead, mercury, asbestos, copper, zinc, and sediment 96 to 99.99 percent; plus lessen chlorine levels and discoloration.

Pur’s filters are made with activated carbon to reduce chlorine and sediment, and include an ion-exchange resin that helps eliminate lead and copper. For best results, filters should be changed every 40 gallons. While Pur filters rid water of many chemicals, coloration, and bad flavors, they do not soften water or remove fluoride. Comment:	These filters work great for a few months then the water goes through them slower and slower until almost no water passes through, but your only supposed to use them for two months. anyways these are great. no more having to buy gallons of filtered water from the store. they will save you alot of money in the long run.

Comment:	Water that's been filtered by PUR is noticeably tastier than water from other filters. I had been using Brita for years but when the dispenser broke, I researched water filters on Amazon and was pleased to see that PUR offered a superior filter. I have been using PUR for over a year now and am very pleased at the result. I will not stinge on the quality to save a few bucks. Water is too important a component of my diet and good health to mess with.

Comment:	For the first week of using this filter, the water would filter through very quickly. Now that I've been using it for about 3 weeks, it takes over 20 minutes to filter a full load. I've seen other filters work much faster, so I would not recommend this one. However, seeing as this is a replacement pack, you probably already own the pitcher so this is the only filter you could buy. Too bad.

Comment:	These filters remove the chlorine taste and smell from my tap water and that's all I really care about. I only change the filters when I notice the smell or taste coming back, so I can use the same one for a very long time. The water in my city is actually pretty high quality, but I just feel that the smell/taste of chlorine was too strong for my tastes and these filters do the trick.
