Editorial Review

Forget parchment paper! This reusable baking mat saves plenty of money by lining your trays for a lifetime of cookie baking. The mat is made of FDA-approved food-grade silicone--the long-standing material of choice for professional bakers. The mat can withstand temperatures ranging from –58 degrees Fahrenheit to 900 degrees Fahrenheit so cookie dough can go from pastry board to freezer to oven without any problems. Silicone promotes even heat distribution so baked goods come out moist and delicious. A high-gloss nonstick finish makes it easier to remove cookies or pastry from the baking mat and, because it is nonporous, it won’t retain the odors or flavors of your food after cooking. Measuring 16-1/4 by 24-1/2, this mat fits jumbo-sized baking sheets. It also can be used on a wood cutting board or kitchen counter to create an impromptu pastry station. The mat grips any surface and won’t slip while kneading dough. Inch marks (up to 24 inches) across the bottom and centimeter marks (up to 40 centimeters) across the side help line dough up to cut exact strips for cookies or biscotti. The mat also has a circular guide printed on its center for measuring out pie crust diameters in either inches or centimeters. SilconeZone’s revolutionary pastry/baking mat is dishwasher-safe and is covered by a lifetime guarantee. --Cristina Vaamonde

I've had this mat for almost 2 months and have found it to be as good as any of the more expensive ones out there. I consider this an excellent value, especially considering that it's big enough to catch whatever loose flour or scraps escape my vigilance :-).

We make biscuits (rolled and drop) on a weekly basis and this mat is the bomb for rolling/patting out the dough. While I use a very light dusting of flour (like my mom taught me) I find that I need very little because nothing sticks to this baby. Pie dough rolls out quickly and evenly - again, no sticking. The inscribed markers on the mat are great for novice pastry makers; accurate, easy to see and so far no sign that they're fading with use or washing.

I use parchment paper so have no put this in the oven (tho' some reviewers have); hence no review on that feature.

Overall it's a great mat at a great price.

I had a difficult time finding these in the store so finding them online was a bonus. Not only are they great for my large baking sheets, they are also useful to put under a cutting board so the board doesn't slide around the counter. They are a little cumbersome to roll up and store because they are so sticky, but I fold them in half and then roll them. This was a great purchase!

This mat is everything it is supposed to be. Wish I had gotten it sooner.
Makes rolling out dough very easy and less frustrating. Worth every penny paid for it.

I use this mat Mostly for rolling out pastry dough. The pie chart sizing is a great help; I am able to transfer directly from the mat to the pie plate. I read a number of complaints about the mat being too sticky. It was a little Sticky on my first couple of uses, but after a few washings it is now working well. It is easy to clean, and I would recommend this product to a friend.

I use mine for rolling out pastry and pie dough, and it works well for that. I've never used it as a baking surface; I prefer a pan, clay tiles, or parchment paper for that.

It's a little difficult to wash, mostly because my sink is on the smaller side.

Also, the description says it's made in the U.S., which is not the case.
