Designed with a retro look, this tea kettle is similar to Revere's original copper-bottom cookware that was so popular in the 1950s but offers updated materials and a lighter weight. The kettle is made of durable and brilliantly polished 18/10 stainless steel and has a copper bottom for excellent heat conductivity. The kettle holds a maximum capacity of 3-1/2 quarts of water, equivalent to six 3-1/2-cup servings, and has a whistle in its spout that sounds when water is boiling. The kettle's handle is made of phenolic plastic, which stays cool during boiling and has a fingertip trigger that pulls to up the lid for pouring or refilling with water. This kettle should be hand-washed and the copper bottom will require polishing in order to maintain its brilliant luster. This kettle is covered under a one-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

Comment:	I bought this item for an elderly person and she complains because it is hard to get the water in through the spout and there is no way to clean the interior when a lime buildup occurs.

Summary:	Almost Exactly What I Wanted
Comment:	I searched and searched, bought and returned many whistling teakettles; however, they never served my purpose. What I sought, and got with the Revere, was a whistle that could be heard in the far reaches of the house. I have a habit of putting water on for tea and then going about my business and forgetting the water on the stove so the strength of the whistle was my first priority. As I use the kettle daily, I would say that the trigger mechanism does not seem sturdy enough; however, only time will tell. The extra cleaning steps needed to get to the interior are far outweighed by the whistle strength.

Comment:	I've lost 2 of these when people put cold water in the kettle while it is still hot. The bottom just bulges totally out of shape. I know, you're thinking 'just don't do that.' Otherwise I really like the kettle.
