The R.H. Forschner collection has grown in size and stature since its name was first carved in steel in 1855. Historically a premier choice of culinary professionals, it is still preferred by professionals today.
Renowned for its extremely sharp, Swiss made, steel blades from Victorinox, R.H. Forschner provides professionals in food processing and preparation with superior quality, value-priced cutlery that enhances performance and increases productivity. They are manufactured in Switzerland. The renowned rosewood handles feature a carved handle design with the unique beauty of natural rosewood and are extra durable. The fibrox handles feature a non slip, ergonomic design and are NSF approved. The blades feature a high-carbon no stain steel with the unique Victorinox polished surface and a taper ground edge. You can choose from a complete collection of cooks knives from 6" to 13" blades and the fully forged knife offerings in each category are manufactured exclusively for R. H. Forschner in Solingen, Germany. Also, there are many unique specialized knives to complete your tool collection including produce, tomato and cheese knives.
Did You Know:
A Granton edge, or "kullenschiff" edge, has hollowed out grooves on the sides of the blade. These grooves fill with the fat and juices of the product being sliced, which allows for thin, even cuts without tearing or shredding the meat.
**The NSF mark is a certification of quality assurance and hygienic design. The National Sanitation Foundation mark is proudly carried on all R.H. Forschner blades with a fibrox or nylon handle and assures you of quality and assurance to use in a commercial environment. Look for this mark. Realize that most manufacturers do not carry this seal!

| Summary: | Wonderfull knife. |
| Comment: | The size of this knife is so handy that I find I go for it more often then my 8 inch chefs knife. Even though I have large hands I still find this knife comfortable to use. The Fibrox handle is wonderful even with slippery hands. When I saw an old school celebrity french chef tended to use a knife this size rather often, I decided to give it a try. I was not disapoionted. I have never seen a 6 inch chefs knife in any set. It's worth it to buy the single knife. |

| Summary: | Love this knife |
| Comment: | This line of knives are the best I have ever had. For the price you can't go wrong with any of these knives. I also own 3 1/4" and 4" paring knives, 8" and 10" chef's knives and a bread knife from this company. They are all great, but the 6" is my favorite. It fits well in my hand and is perfect for slicing or chopping vegetables. Makes cutting through potatos like cutting through soft butter. I like the 8" for cutting up chickens. The paring knives are a dream for peeling apples and pears. An occational swipe across a shapening steel keeps these knives like new. |

| Summary: | short term sharpness |
| Comment: | I purchase both the 6" and the 8" knifes of the same series. They are great value for the price and definitly make cooking work faster and easier than before. One shortcoming, the knife need to be sharpen every 3-weeks in order to maintain the same cutting smoothness as it came from the factory. but again, great knife for the price. |
