Editorial Review

There's something clean and pure about cookware that's stainless steel inside and out. This stylishly finished version from KitchenAid's Gourmet Essentials series features a brightly polished interior that discourages food from sticking, and a handsomely brushed exterior with a shiny band along the rim. Each pan is entirely constructed of premium 18/10 stainless steel, except for the encapsulated aluminum disk in the base (aluminum makes a superior conductor of heat), and the silicone grip encasing the handle. Even the tight-fitting lids are stainless steel. Each piece is oven-safe to 400 degrees F and is dishwasher-safe.

Whether you want to fry up pancakes for breakfast, warm soup for lunch, or feed chili to a crowd, this set more than accommodates your most typical cooking needs. The 1-, 2-, and 3-quart saucepans all come with lids, as does the large 8-quart stockpot. The 8- and 10-inch French skillets are nice and deep, great for poaching eggs or stir-frying veggies. Stainless steel cooks most efficiently at medium heat, and can be used to start a dish on the stovetop and finish it in the oven. An excellent value, the set is covered by a lifetime limited warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

I've been quite pleased with my new cookware -- a bit heavier than I expected but nothing uncomfortable. Great deal for the price!

I've had these for a few months now. Firsly, I bought the set for $109.99, why is amazon.com now selling it for over $170?? Secondly, as for the product, I think it's a good, standard pots and pans set. It's basic, nothing fancy, but does the job.

Really important advice though: I was getting so frustrated with this set b/c every time I made pancakes, even though I SMOTHERED the pan in oil, the pancakes would burn. It was easy to clean up surprisingly, but the food burned! Well, I guess the best advice I got in regards to stainless steal is to use cooking spray, NOT oil! It has seriously made a world of difference. It's not as easy to clean anymore, but at least my food comes out normal.

Nice pots and pans, pans suffer from "sticking" problem...on the whole it was a good buy for the price.

I've gotta tell ya, this is a great cookware set. Much heavier than I expected, and distributes heat very evenly. The entire set (I paid less than $130 on Amazon before Christmas) costs far less than just one saucepan of a so-called "premium" brand. Why pay more just for a name??

We purchased this after having health concerns about the Non-Stick. We replaced our non-stick set after a few years b/c we were noticing it flaking and it wearing off. Is that going into our foods and dinners? We are trying to eat organics fruits and vegetables but were cooking them on the non-stick. We love this set. They are weighted well and we wash them many times in the dish washer. Enjoy!!
