Hamilton Beach 35020 Cool Touch Deep Fryer

I bought this for myself as a Christmas gift to myself! Fried chicken the first time and it was easy to use, clean up, etc..plus it was large. It replaced one without the insert which was hard to clean...this one is easy to clean..just pour it out and place in dishwasher. Highly recommend this fryer to anyone.

I bought this as a gift and continue to receive thanks! It heats up fast, has a timer and temp. adjustment. Also the oil pan lifts out to be drained and cleaned. All around this is a great product.

Based on recommendations on Amazon I bought this deep fryer. Tried it out right away. Canola oil to maximum line. After 30 minutes the oil only reached 325 degrees F by candy thermometer that reads 210 in boiling water. All recipes call for temps of 350 or 375 degrees F. I wish someone made a deep fryer that tells you the exact temperature of the oil and gives you the freedom to raise or lower it as you add food or want to cool it down for something else. Sent it back.

Seems nice but the safety nannies and lawyers have made this virtually unusable. The extremely short electric cord does not fit tightly, but is held on by a very weak magnet and loose electrical connection. Just moving this on your counter top is enough to break the connection and turn it off.
A very poor solution.
We didn't even bother to fill it with oil before we returned it.

I don't use a fryer all the time, so wanted something small enough to store on a shelf easily and large enough that I would not have to make tiny batches of foods. This is a good balance. The outside stays completely cool and I like the way the basket handle raises and lowers the basket while the lid is open or closed. I also like the timer and the adjustable frying temp. The magnetic power supply cord takes some getting used to and stays in place if you don't breathe on it. All in all, a good product, I'd buy it again, and I thought the price was reasonable.
