| Comment: | I have always heard that Lodge products were great and the reviews that I read about this item seemed to back that up but I must have gotten the bad apple of the bunch because the enamel chipped off in the bottom of the pan after only one use. I declined a replacement as I was very worried that the same thing would happen again. Amazon was very good about my return of the item and refunding my purchase price which I appreciated . I still am on the look out for a good enameled cast iron dutch oven that doesn't cost an arm and a leg but that is good quality. (note: I was not using a metal utensil or high heat so the pan was definitely defective) |

| Comment: | I have enjoyed my Lodge Dutch Oven. It is easy to clean and it is great for slow cooked meals. I also bought the 3 qt casserole. |

| Comment: | I can't comment on the durability as I've only been using this pot for a month, but so far it's performed as well as the Staub pot I had been using for years previously. If this holds up for even a couple of years, I'd say it's well worth it for the price! The only catch is that the handle is only oven-safe to 400F, so I have had to remove it on a few occasions. It screws on and off quite easily, though! |

| Comment: | ... it's a replacement for the 5-qt. dutch oven I used weekly which was lost when moving. $53 Lodge vs. $210 Le Creuset. The 75% savings paid for a complete 10-piece set of Cuisinart Chef's Classic stainless steel. (Bought the original Le Creuset in 1991 as part of a 2 fry pans, 2 sauce, 1 dutch oven set for $170.) |
