Oxo Good Grips Silicone Flexible Pancake Turner

I got this because my square stainless spatula wouldn't support my pancakes when I flipped them, and when I got an anodyzed griddle, I figured a silicone turner would be better anyhow. But this one just doesn't work as well as it should. It's definitely big and solid, but it just won't slide underneath a pancake far enough for the size to matter. Instead of drooping over the sides of my square spatula, now the pancakes droop over the lip of this enormous turner -- unless I can manage to get enough traction by squooshing the pancake up against the side of the griddle. The turner's splayed form also makes it hard to fit between pancakes when I'm making several at a time. Other reviewers seem happy with this item, so maybe it's just me. But, in truth, my old all-purpose spatula is a lot easier to use than this ostensibly dedicated one.

Oh the joy of a silicone pancake turner! The one I used to have (of a different brand) finally broke so I thought I'd just go buy a regular one at a store near by. Big mistake!

Not only did it leave little pieces of black plastic in my food, it also was difficult to clean and I had to scrape off the melted plastic from the edge each time I washed it.

Finally I decided I had to have another silicone turner. The Oxo Silicone Pancake Turner is easy to clean because it is nonstick and there is no black stuff because the silicone doesn't melt in the pan. Another great feature is that it is wider than a typical spatula. This means when I am flipping a pancake or a grilled cheese sandwich, the edges don't break and fall off the spatula. This gadget is big enough to support the whole thing! What more could I ask for in a excellent kitchen utensil?

This spatula is a must have for anyone who likes to cook.

I have bought a number of kitchen tools that I probably wouldn't have due solely to the 4-for-3 promotion by Amazon. This spatula is handy for foods other than pancakes and it's well made.

Wow, someone finally figured out that many of the things we cook on griddles aren't 3x4 inch rectangles!! This pancake turner is actually shaped round like a round thing you'd actually cook. And, the stuff that is getting cooked doesn't bond to the surface of this spectacular spatula. So far, so good. A lot of help for a little price.

very large!! guess i didnt pay attention to the demensions. i mean, if you use it to cook anything else but pancakes... (eggs ect) you might not be able to cook more than one at a time cause you wont be able to flip them. but very durable and easy to clean. other than that i might get another if it comes in a smaller size.
