Breville BJE510XL Ikon 900-Watt Variable-Speed Juice Extractor

This is the best product I ever bought. This juicer is easy to clean, it takes me about 5 minutes to do it. The company made it even easier to clean by providing special brush.
I want to share my secret, after I did my juice I collect what is left- I mean grounded fruits and I eat them. What I do not it I keep in refrigerator for next day.Those fruits are the best source of vitamin and fiber. I stay healthy all winter.

I read all of the reviews and decided that this would be the best juicer even if it was quite a bit more money. It works great but doesn't meet the hype of some of the reviews. A friend has a $50 juicer that does just as good a job IMO. Considering the amount of vegetables it takes to make the juice, spend less on the juicer so you have more to spend on the vegetables and fruits.

I am going to share with you my experience using this juicer for about 2 weeks making apple, pear and carrot juice,
First of all the set up instructions are easy to follow and you just need to clean it before you use it. There are only 5 pieces which is removable and all can be put back with minimum effect. Only one metal piece must be aligned.
I bought this because I believe this is the newest model with 5 speeds. For me it turns out I only use the most powerful speed (5).
I follow the instruction for apple and pear and removed all the seed and keep the skin.
You must turn the motor on first before you put the fruit inside. I learn the best technique from other posters here. Put the pieces in and cover the mouth with your hand. Sometimes it will kick parts out very quickly. If it stops working by itself you will have to use the plastic push to slowly push the pieces into the blade. It is extremely fast. The best way to use it is to prepare all the pieces before you turn the machine on. Then grind it and get your juice. The machine overheats once after about 20 minutes of use. I have to cool it off for 15 minutes before it works again.
My machine has a small leak like some other poster said. I have to put a paper towel below the whole thing and to keep it clean.
The juice has a lot of foam and I have to use a filter to filter it before drinking. But it tasted extremely good. The carrot juice is much better than the most expensive one you can buy. I buy the carrot from costco for about 50 cents a pound and get about 7 oz of juice per lb.
The cleanup is what most people hate. All the parts are extremely easy to clean up except one. That is the blade with a filter. The filter is very fine and they provide a brush for you to clean. Here is my method. You must clean it within a few minutes after you finish using it. Assume you have not used it for more than 20 minutes. (I suggest you somewhat clean the filter a little bit for every 15 to 20 minutes use. You probably cannot use it for longer than that because the motor may overheat.) My best way is to quickly brush it in a big pot of warm water. Then soak and clean it with very hot water in a smaller pot. You must use the brush on both side of the filter and change water very often. Now I can clean it in about 3 minutes.
The noise level is not bad for me and it is just like a regular blender.

Hooked on Breville...I was able to find the Ikon juicer for $175 shipped...not a bad price for this great item. Realistically, this machine operates almost identically to the $50 Hamilton-Beach "Big-Mouth"...the difference being: the Ikon is quieter, multi-speed, build quality and materials are improved and it just looks like a high dollar, state of the art...juicer sitting on the counter. It's also a nice match for the K-cup Breville coffee maker, ($210,Linens'n Things closeout)and a Breville Panini grill, ($42,a sale at Williams Sonoma factory store). These are all great functioning and beautifully made products...try them , enjoy them.

After much deliberation, this was my choice for the best juicer on the market... as a reasonable and practical item for daily use.

I researched juicers for months before digging my heals in and just getting one. I wanted everything - biggest nutritional benefits, easy cleanup, versatility, style and speed. Unfortunately I was asking a bit much. The best nutritional benefits come from a double masticating juicer (ridiculously more expensive than a single) and both took a very long time to make great juice. As much as I like the idea of being a super health nut, I could not see myself honestly devoting 30 minutes to a glass of juice daily. I'm the kind of person who thinks twice before stuffing the stand mixer or the food processor and I didn't want to debate whether or not it was worth it to wake up earlier for juice. So, I sacrificed a little bit of the nutrition for the speed, ease, style and cleanup. I truly believe it was worth it. I drink juice all the time (and waited a couple months before writing this to make sure it wasn't too much of a fad).

The cleanup is no worse than the food processor and the speed... well, there is no comparison with the masticating machine. I am not able to make wheat grass juice as I would with the Omega, but then... I don't even grow wheat grass. This juicer gets rave reviews from me for practicality. Plus, it's stylish enough to leave on the counter all the time. Again, I really cannot express my joy with the speed and ease of this one. It requires such minimal prepping.

A bonus about this particular juicer among the breville line is that it have 5-6 speed settings -- more than the others -- which helps tailor the juicing process to different textures of fruit and vegetables so that you get the most juice. The pulp is not super dry, but I like to reuse mine (fruit pulp in breads, cookies, and boiled down to fruit butters; veg pulp in soups and dips; plus the dogs love it as a fiber supplement to their meals) so I don't mind a little moisture. Plus, you can always run the pulp through it again.

Overall, if your juicing fears include it becoming a dusty peice of clutter in the back of a cabinet due to sparse usage, then this is the one to try. You really can drop whole med-small sized apples or a quarter of a pineapple right in. Then either hand wash four pieces or put them in the top rack of the dishwasher. Easy-peasy.
