works well, but it could do a better job on "shaking" a martini.
Overall a good product.

My husband received this as a gift and didn't use it for 8 months...he said "I prefer to shake my martinis myself". We had a party and he fell in love with it because you can turn this on and make other drinks while the martini shaker is doing all of the hard work. Of course, it is also a conversation piece. I like it because it makes the martinis colder than when he shakes them! It is also fantistic for shooters as it gets the contents real cold...just run it twice with the same contents. This is a "must have" for anyone who has a home bar or drinks martinis regularly.

Summary:It doesn't make a cold enough martini for my tastes...

I'll make a long story short. I like a cold martini that's very well shaken so that there are ice crystals on the top of the drink. This machine is not capable of doing that.

Don't get me wrong, it's a cute thing and seems to be reasonably well made. If you like your martinis cool to somewhat cold, it will probably be a good choice for you. However, I like my martinis very cold and it's not up to the task of making them the way that I like them, even after multiple cycles back-to-back.

I also tried to make a Lemon Drop Martini using a powdered mix. 2 cycles later, it did not shake hard enough to blend the mix properly. Drinks poured from the top of the shaker tasted mostly of water and vodka where the bottom was very sweet due to the largely undissolved mix.

So...It's just fine for those who like cool to somewhat cold martinis, but if you like them very cold like I do, it's probably not a good choice. And if you're going to be using powdered mixes, the shaking may not be strong enough to mix your drink properly.
