Umbra 330637-560 Conceal Invisible Book Shelf

The umbra conceal book shelf is truly a great buy. i found them online awhile ago but recently came across them at my local bookstore chain, so i thought i'd give them a shot. i couldnt be any happier. with a weight load of 15lbs for the small shelf and a 20lbs weight load for the large shelf. they do an excellent job of displaying your books, in a neat nontraditonal way. all of my guests have noticed this shelf and inquired about where to get one for themselves. it trips everyone out, even me still.

as far as mounting them, they couldnt be any easier. the packaging is simple; shelf, plastic covering, two screws. that's it. no directions included OR needed.

the only problem one may encouter with this shelf is that you cannot make the first book on the stack a paperback. it will bubble and lift away from the pages, therefore not looking as sleek as it could. It is best to use a hardcover as your first book if you want it to look right. also the hardback has to be at least 6" deep(most book are, but i have a few that aren't) the shelf extends out from the wall 5-ish inches and you need a book that can cover all of that as your first. the plastic packaging also says: 16" Max stack height and 8" Max book depth for the small shelf. so dont stack too high and dont use ones that are too deep.

all in all, easy mounting, looks great, great price. i bought 4 more.

I only ordered 2 of these and after installing them, I want lots of them all over my house! They look really cool.You can dec up a whole room with this stuff and not use an inch of floor space!
The only problem is that the books have to be the exact size as the base.

I was a little skeptical about these shelves when I bought them but they've turned out really well. The metal is thicker than you would think so they look and feel very sturdy. I only put five or six books on them but my guess is that they could hold much more. Very satisfied with these.

I got 4 large and 4 small ones altogether. And if you know how to drill, then it'd be a piece of cake to put/mount it onto the wall.

I put a few up in my small living room next to my TV and a IKEA wall-shelf. It looks great and it does hold up a lot. But how much does it hold up? That also depends on your books.

One tip: To know when to stop piling more books on, use your hand and push down from the top a little bit. If it starts to shake and feels quite heavy, it is time to stop and leave it at that.

You can use these anywhere, on any wall, with nearly any book. Also, you can set a picture frame or other decoration on the top book for a little extra pizazz... easy to install, use several to form a collection on a wall. Works best when bottom book is a hard back. Super easy to install.
