THIS PRODUCT CAN ONLY GO IN AN OVEN UP TO 350 DEGREES.

It says this on the product label but Amazon fails to mention this in the product detail.

Very important information that people should be aware of before purchasing this product.

Item was exactly as pictured, just what I was looking for. The bowl arrived more quickly than I thought it would.

Summary:excellent casseroles, actually an improvement

I tend to be sceptical of the "new, improved" products that manufacturers keep bringing out, because I often find that something I liked has been ruined by some marketing genius (or perhaps a bean-counting genius).

So I was wary of these new versions of my old corningware casseroles, but since the price was good and I was desperate, I decided to try them.

I'm very pleased that I did: these are just as lightweight and easy to use as other reviewers have said, and in fact I find the shapes (e.g., rim all around) actually an improvement as well.

Also, I found that the plastic lids they include are well-designed, fitting snugly yet being reasonably easy to put on and remove.

Highly recommended.

These SimplyLite casseroles are fantastic. They are very light weight and, I have to admit, I was skeptical as to how well they would hold up. I am a bit of a klutz and most of my glass casseroles are chipped here and there, but my SimplyLite has survived about everything I can do to it and still looks brand new.

I am not easy on my SimplyLite. I have dropped it once on a lightly carpeted floor where a glass casserole had already met its fate. I have piled it under a ton of other dishes in the sink (I lost a couple of mugs that way) and it came out without a nick or scratch.

When we moved, I had forgotten to wrap and pack it with my other casseroles and when we were on that last minute rush to get everything out, my husband noticed my SimplyLite casserole sitting on the counter waiting to be put away. I was out of wrapping materials and in a rush and simply threw it in a junk box with the nagging understanding that it wasn't likely to survive the trip. At the new house, I found that box at the bottom of a pile and my heart fell, feeling that there was no chance my casserole wouldn't be in pieces, but when I opened the box, not only was it intact, but it showed no signs of the abuse I had put it through.

My SimplyLight has survived some quick temperature changes inflicted upon it by my impatient family with still no cracks or chips. This casserole is incredibly durable and performs impressively. I'd like to see these come out in some of the Corningware patterns and colors I remember from my childhood.

CorningWare is like a swiss army knife:you can do almost anything to it or with it. This small useful casserole dish stands up under wear, it can be used as a serving dish, it keeps items warm on the table, its easy to clean, it takes a formidable amount of baking without pause. I have used it on casseroles, potatoes, beans, stuffing, even a pot pie type dish, and it performs very well. There is no nostalgia, this simply works, and works well.
