BALL Home Canning Basics Kit

My knowledge of canning extended pretty much to a healthy fear of botulism, but, determined to gift cranberry chutney this holiday, I bought this set. It includes everything you need for canning and nothing you don't. (DO use the enclosed tool to remove air pockets -- it works!) The book has tremendous instructions and tips and also some inspiring recipes. The stock pot can be a little hard to store, but comes in great for things like boiling whole fowl in addition to doing the hot water canning. Very happy with my purchase AND with the chutney!

This Kit is everything I wanted it to be and it was shipped on time. I haven't used it yet but Ball's impeccable reputation was all I needed to know and the price was right!!

PLEASE BE CAREFUL... this canner is ONLY to be used for fruit and jelly's, with some use for canning tomatoes (only very acidic ones-or you have to add acidity like lemon juice). YOU SHOULD NOT CAN VEGETABLES with this canner , it is not safe as it can only heat water to boiling 212 F, and you need a pressure canner to can vegetables and meats- heats to 245F necessary to kill botulism etc because these foods are low acid. check the goverment recommendations! BE SAFE.

I ordereed the Ball Canning Kit as a Christmas gift for my daughter(who loves to cook).
It came in plenty of time for Christmas gift giving.
All the offered pieces were included,and arrived in great shape!
The price of the kit was very reasonable,and I would use this site again!!

My mom got this for me and I love to can. I am looking forward till next spring when I have a garden and can home grown stuff. The only disappointing part is that the coupons that where in the box had expired about 9 months earlier.
